These sauna construction requirements should be taken into account
Sisältö
When the construction of a sauna is topical, certain structural requirements of the sauna should be known. We put together a time-saving article that makes it easier to build, assemble and purchase a ready-made sauna.
Lot
It is clear that the construction of a yard sauna requires a building permit. Every sauna built in the yard or even a pre-moved sauna needs a legal permit. However, there are exceptions where permission is not required.
Nowadays, it is very common to acquire ready-made saunas that are delivered to the home in ready-made packages or assembled on site quickly. So are the yard saunas for rent, which do not need a building permit because they are not in that place permanently.
With the sauna lot, it should be noted that the sauna must not be placed anywhere in the yard, but must be placed in accordance with fire safety. For example, the yard sauna should not be too close to a residential building. It is also a good idea to take the neighbours so that the new sauna is not located right next to the neighbour.
Sauna structure
The wall structure of a sauna is often made taking into account the scope of its use. Often the yard sauna is in use all year round, but sometimes the yard sauna is only in use in the winter and sometimes only in the summer. Of course, a summer cottage that is not visited in winter does not have winter use, in which case such outdoor saunas may have different structures.
Remember about the connection of water and sewerage. It is worth checking the correct connection according to your municipality, in which case the carrying water can be connected to the sewer network. In general, the wastewater from the yard sauna is minimal.
Sauna insulation
Why, then, does the season affect the structure? The reason is simple: heat. Thanks to good insulation, in winter, when the yard sauna is colder, the heat cannot escape. However, in ready-made saunas, insulation is not always the most popular choice for everyone. It all depends on the user and whether it is necessary to insulate the sauna for themselves.
Materials
The traditional yard sauna is wooden. Depending on the wood material, thermowood, spruce or other, the yard sauna is sturdy, breathable and long-lasting. Other ready-made yard saunas are:
- Cedar
- Aspen
- Common alder
When choosing the materials for the yard sauna, it is good to think again about the use of the sauna. How often and when to use the sauna. Lighter wood gets dirty more easily, while darker wood doesn’t show dirt so easily. However, we recommend cleaning as a sauna regularly for hygiene and durability.
Maintenance
You should remember to take care of the sauna regularly to keep it clean and increase its service life. After each use, the sauna should be dried so that moisture does not remain on the wooden surfaces. Sauna benches can be washed with Mäntysuopa and a soft brush suitable for wooden surfaces.
After all, the structural requirements for the sauna are clear and necessary. So, are you ready to get yourself a breathable and steam-rich ready-made sauna? Check out our selection of outdoor saunas and get yours.
